The Rose Rock 2000 Top 5 Challenge 

The World Famous Countdown The Rock 2000, run by The Rock Radio, is on! The top 2,000 rock songs as voted by listeners are playing now by The Rock Radio throughout the month of September. The Top 20 will be revealed on the final day Friday 25th from 4pm. The Rose will be rocking all the top tunes on the final day live all day!

Whilst The Rock 2000 is on we're having a bit of extra fun here at The Rose with our own prediction competition, with some great prizes up for grabs. So if you think you can predict the Top 5 Rock Songs then read on & check out the details below....

Important Dates:

  • Entries Open: Friday 11 September
  • Rock 2000 Final: Friday 25 September (Top 20 songs played on The Rose from 4pm)
  • The Rose Top 5 Challenge Entry Closing Date: Thursday 24 September 2026 10pm.
  • The Rose Top 5 Challenge Winner Announced: Saturday 26 September 2026

Competition Details:

  • Pick up your The Rose Rock 2000 Entry Form from The Rose Irish Pub. (64 Hastings Street, Napier. We're open from midday)
  • Pick your predicted Rock 2000 top 5 songs (order doesn’t matter).
  • Submit your entry on the official The Rose Rock 2000 Entry Form to The Rose before the closing date. 10pm Thursday 24 September. 
  • Once the official Rock 2000 Top 5 is known,The Rose Rock 2000 Top 5 Challenge entries will be checked against the the Official Rock 2000 Top 5.
  • Winners are determined by how many songs they correctly predicted.

Prizes:

  • 5/5 Correct - $50 Rose Gift Voucher
  • 4/5 Correct- $20 Rose Gift Voucher
  • Bonus Draw: Everyone who submits a valid entry goes into a random draw to win a $100 Rose Gift Voucher

Competition T & Cs:

Eligibility:

  • The competition is open to customers aged 18 years and over.
  • Entry is free.
  • No purchase is necessary to enter.
  • One entry per person.
  • The Rose reserves the right to verify the identity of any winner.

Entry:

Participants must complete an official entry form.  

Each entry must include:

  • Full name
  • Contact phone number
  • Predicted #1 song
  • Predicted #2 song
  • Predicted #3 song
  • Predicted #4 song
  • Predicted #5 song

Entries must be submitted before the advertised closing time, 10pm Thursday 24 September. 

Predictions:

  • Participants must predict five different songs.
  • The same song cannot be selected more than once on the same entry.
  • Song title and artist should be provided where possible to avoid confusion between songs with similar names.

Determining the Winners:

Predictions will be compared with the official 2026 Rock 2000 Top 5.

5 correct predictions = $50 Rose Gift Voucher
4 correct predictions = $20 Rose Gift Voucher
The position of the song does not need to match for the participant to receive the relevant prize.

For example, if a participant correctly predicts all five songs but places them in a different order, they have correctly predicted all five songs.

Bonus Prize Draw:

  • Every valid entry will be entered into a random draw for a $100 Rose Gift Voucher.
  • If a participant qualifies for more than one prize category, they will receive both prizes.

Multiple Winners:

  • If multiple participants correctly predict the same number of songs, each eligible participant will receive the applicable prize.
  • If the number of winners exceeds the available prize allocation, The Rose reserves the right to conduct a random draw among eligible participants for the affected prize category.

Winner Contact:

  • Winners will be contacted using the details supplied on their entry form.
  • If a winner cannot be contacted within 7 days, The Rose may redraw the prize.

 Prize Conditions:

  • Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable for cash.
  • The Rose Gift Vouchers are subject to The Rose's normal gift voucher terms and conditions.

Official Rock 2000:

  • This competition is run independently by The Rose Irish Pub.
  • It is not an official Rock 2000 competition and is in no way related to the official Rock 2000 voting or countdown results.

General:

  • The Rose reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is incomplete, illegible, duplicated or considered invalid.
  • The Rose's decision regarding the competition is final.
  • The competition is subject to all applicable New Zealand laws and regulations.
